Installation of the mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems are actively underway. As these systems are completed, exterior and interior walls are completed. Site improvements on Loma Terrace and Mermaid will commence soon.
This photo shows where the sculpture was going to be placed at the Community / Senior Center. What we have now is a big notch cut out of the building. So what to do with it? That's the question. We suggest that a very large tile mosaic be put up along with a fountain. Just so long as it's not another whale!
The steel is being installed at a quick pace. Soon the roof will be going on. We look forward to this.
The walls of the building are raising at a fast clip. Could we be seeing the roof going in place next month? We will keep you posted.
The concrete pour for the main floor is being completed today. That may be the last major concrete pour for the center. There may be another for the roof. Concrete roof? Now that we gotta see.
The schedule calls for another concrete pour next Wednesday. Be prepared and avoid 3rd St that day.
During month of January, the contractor for the community center needs to tie into the existing City storm drain which runs along the Community Clinic property. Working with the Clinic, the contractor will need to use their driveway and several of their on-site parking spaces. As replacement spaces, the city will reserve nine on-street parking meters for the Community Clinic.
