I don't get it. If you can afford to buy any house in Laguna it usually means you have some subset of brains. Yet at 1425 Mar Vista Way the owners didn't bother getting permits for the structure. Now they want the city to forgive them and let them keep said structure.
So are the homeowners stupid? Are they arrogant? I think they're both - Stupid and arrogant.
Also remember we have no idea how many code violations are in this structure.
Is this structure safe? Since they didn't bother getting permits there is no telling.
The Design Review Board will hear their appeal on October 24, 2013 at 6 PM. Variance 13-1731.

Now here's the kicker. Even if the Design Review Board refuses to grant them a variance the owners will take their appeal to the City Council and odds are in favor the Council WILL grant them a variance.
