Seasonal Lifeguard tryouts were this morning at Main Beach. Faith Hale was the seventh to finish the long swim. 35 finished under the 20 minute time limit.
The long swim is just that a very hard swim out to the Main Beach buoy and then over to Pelican rock and back. You have to do it in under 20 minutes. And this is in ocean water temperatures in the mid 50.
More on Faith Hale from her father Thomas Hale: Faith (16) relocated with her family Thomas, Elizabeth and sister Chloe from Scottsdale AZ to Laguna Beach California. Her goal is to be #1 in the lifeguard program and be a positive addition to the visitors this summer in Laguna Beach. She came in 7, 8, 9 among 44 competitors from around Southern California. She worked as a swim instructor last summer for Laguna Beach Pool while training for Water Polo and Swim Season and is currently taking her EMT class to prepare her for her summertime challenge. Faith hopes to attend and compete at a UC School upon graduation in 2015. The greatest thing that can happen for her this summer is if someone will stop by and see her if they are simply looking for a Bright Smile.
