Noise Complaint Stops Primary Construction!

Laguna Beach: Noise ComplaintThis is totally insane.

Someone filed a complaint with the City over the noise at the construction site of the new Lifeguard Headquarters. Now primary construction is at a halt. This is costing the City Thousands of Dollars, your Dollars, my Dollars, a day!

What I want to know is the name of the moron in the City government that allowed this to happen.

The City is currently taking the noise complaint under consideration. In the mean time no work is being done.

Why couldn't the City keep construction going while they consider the complaint? That way there is no loss in time and money. And the way the City operates it may take several months to come to a decision.

John, are they driving steel "pilings", or is it just construction equipment noise?

    Tsk!... whiny NIMBY's!

    1. I think it was the steel wall that is being put into place to support the sidewalk. Yes I think you're right the pounding of the steel was the noise. But it HAS to be done. The crew told me it would take 3 days.

The noise of the first phase of this project lasted a lot longer.

Gee folks, do you think you could keep the noise down and still get the construction finishes, Quietly? Morons abound.

I agree with you John, you can't build a building on sand and if the pilings aren't driven into a solid substrate at that location the building would be subject to soil liquefaction during a hard earthquake, not to mention it could just plain "wash away"! I had worked in San Francisco for years and the pile drivers are a year round thing there.

It's better to do it now, then at the height of tourist season. Three days is nothing!

Hopefully those people will come to reason.
