This Tree Is No More

Laguna Beach: Tree No LongerIt had to be removed for the work being done at the Lifeguard Headquarters. They tired to save it but it didn't make it.

    I remember sitting on the lawn next to that tree.

    For a "Then and Now" picture of Main Beach take a look here; "Main Beach 1918".

    After having looked at Google Earth at the tree that has now been removed, if you look at the old 1918 picture, I estimated that this tree was later planted at a round grassy clump about 100' south past the three gentlemen pictured in front.

    The picture overall is quite amazing and makes it hard to believe it's the same place.
