Overcast Skies For The Week

Laguna Beach: Festival of the ArtsThis just may be the week to get to the big three festivals here in Laguna. For sure no crowds. There is plenty of good art at all three of the festivals. I think hard times bring out the best in artists.

You want heat then go to Washington D.C.

A Picture Worth A Thousand Expletives And More!

Laguna Beach: CityscapeLast week I reported that Ken Franks stated that Caltrans had lengthened the times on the lights allowing for greater time in getting across PCH.

NOT!

In the above photo the lead pedestrians are just making it across PCH and the autos trying to make a left turn haven't been able to. Also notice the light is green for PCH traffic.

Crossing PCH at Ocean Ave you have to sprint to make across it before the light goes RED.

Hey I got a $100 fine for j-walking at Ocean Ave and now Caltrans makes it impossible NOT to j-walk at this crossing.

Give me my money back! I'm not joking. I really believe I should get my money back.

Here's a sample of the light timings to cross PCH at Ocean Ave.:

The Walk light last 7 Seconds.

The green light last 18 seconds.

The yellow light 3 seconds.

That's a totals of 21 seconds.

The light for PCH traffic is 1 minute and 10 seconds.

I think today, July 4th, just may be chaos at Ocean Ave and other lights along PCH.

Preview Night At The Festival Of Arts

Laguna Beach: Festival of ArtsOf course there was plenty of food. This year's food tops last year and of course any food tops the stuff they had in 2008.

Laguna Beach: Festival of ArtsLaguna Beach: Festival of ArtsTwo of the festival artists talking about their work. All right one was. The other was . . . you get the picture.

Laguna Beach: Festival of ArtsPersonally this is pretty much what preview night at the Festival of Arts felt like.

It's Upon Us. Really Big Crowds. Maybe.

Laguna Beach: July 4thI find it hard to get into the July 4th thing. I'm not sure what the reason is. I think it's the weather. Whatever the reason this weekend should be interesting if the overcast skies continue.

The photo is from last year July 4th.

Car Collided With A Pedestrian

Laguna Beach: Diver’s CoveI love these descriptions. A car COLLIDES with a pedestrian? Make that a stupid driver, who wasn't paying attention, hit a real person trying to cross the street at a marked cross-walk.

It's just a line in the Laguna police blotter. It's here in the OC Register.

It's About Time

Laguna Beach: Clearing SkiesJust keep it going. Don't back up. I want all blue skies.

Already!

Laguna Beach: CityscapeThink rush hour with no parking available anywhere downtown. And it's only Thursday.

I Keep Thinking Blue Skies Today, Then I Hope, Then Dream, Then Yell!

Laguna Beach: Blue SkiesWill it ever clear up? I thought it would yesterday. I had to go into Laguna Hills and it was actually hot out there. Clear skies a plenty. Back in the canyon I could feel, before seeing, the overcast skies.

This morning as I write this post I can see maybe 300 feet. Maybe.

I'm hoping that writing about the overcast weather that it will clear up.

I'm at the dream stage. And quickly moving to yelling.
