Patriot's Day Parade Big Success - No Rain

Laguna Beach: Patriot Day ParadeIt started out cold, windy, and a little wet. It ended warm, calm, and almost sunny skies shinning down on the parade.

Did I really say that?

I'll have more Monday. My Sunday is full.

Patriot's Day Parade Today

Laguna Beach: Boardwalk’s Buried StepsThe OC Register is reporting that the city of Laguna Beach will be replacing all the access steps along the Boardwalk starting next week. About time. I know one post has rotted completely through. Even now it shouldn't be used.

Whatever Happened To The Ban On Plastic Bags?

Laguna Beach: Walking The BoardwalkI use plastic. You use plastic. Plastic is everywhere. Check the beach, any beach, after a storm. The beach has plastic.

But what about plastic bags? I thought they were going the way of the honest politician. Not yet. I still have a choice at the store: "Plastic or paper sir?" I love that Sir part. If it was just paper would I ever be addressed as SIR again? Probably not.

Let's keep plastic. I like choice.

Oh I forgot: "License and registration Sir." That will never go away.

Busy Day At The Local Wachovia Bank

Laguna Beach: Wachovia BankHow much longer can this last? It must be painful for the employees (I only see two cars.)

I have been told that the bank will remain open until the lease expires.

City Council Promises To Obey The LAW!

Laguna Beach: Sea Gulls Relaxing In The SunSometimes people do and say things that are just plain stupid and when you confront them on it they just bluster and tell you you're misinformed.

The Laguna Beach City Council passed a stupid resolution. The law is the law and ignorance of said law is no excuse.

I love the title of this report in the OC Register. The council can't promise anything. Either they're in compliance with the law or they're not.

Promise?  Promise? I don't need no stickin' promise. It's the law stupid!

About The Picture: I'm not implying that the council is a bunch of Sea Gulls. Sea Gulls know better.

Mark Chamberlain At Soka University

Laguna Beach: Soka University, Peace Fountain and LakeSoka University, Peace Fountain & Lake

A retrospective of Mark Chamberlain's work is now at Soka University. The show, Reflections By An Armchair Arteologist, is on display through May 14, 2010.

For over 35 years, Mark Chamberlain has used photography and other art vehicles for social change and political commentary.

I can't think of a better use of one's life, especially a photographer.

Mark, along with his late partner, Jerry Burchfield, are being celebrated at CSUF Grand Central Art Center. The show, BC Space Mything In Action (Runs through April 11, 2010), features the work of 42 artists who exhibited at the BC Gallery in Laguna Beach in the past four decades.

Council To Decide On Speed Limit For Bluebird Canyon Dr

Laguna Beach: Moss PointFor a change of pace the City Council will consider upping the speed limit from 25 MPH to 30 MPH.

This will be fun to watch. I bet they don't approve the increase. Because, like cellphone towers, speed can cause pregnancy. Yes I know that sounds silly but when you hear from all the home owners on that street I bet some of their reasons for objecting to the increase in the speed limit will be just as silly.

Can you get cellphone signals in the canyon?

Did I mention the City Council meeting is tonight?

Be there or be unaware.

Debris Pushed Under The Boardwalk During High Tide

Laguna Beach: Debris pushed under the Boardwalk during high tide. The debris shown, and much more, was pushed out from under the Boardwalk during high tide.

I was told that the Sunday high tide was washing over the Boardwalk and left debris all over the area behind the Boardwalk. It has been cleaned up except for the area between the Boardwalk and PCH at Broadway.
