Third Street Retaining Wall Replacement

Laguna Beach: 3rd St Project

From The City Manager's Weekly Report – Construction will begin next week to replace the wood retaining wall on the downhill side of the Third Street hill. To accommodate the work, the downhill lane of Third Street will be closed from 8:45 am to 4:45 pm on weekdays. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of November. Traffic impacts during peak times will be monitored to identify any traffic control measures that might need to be implemented.
That's right, they monitor, evaluate, then study, review, form task force, and continue to study alternate plans. The task force will then decide on a solution, present it to the City Council who will take the task force report under consideration, study it, debate it, and then vote to delay.

By then it will be January, 2010, and the City Manager will remind the City Council that the road has been opened for two months. The council will then vote to shelve the task force solution and desolve the task force.

End Of Another Perfect Day In Paradise

Laguna Beach: Sunset in ParadiseAh paradise.

Live The Life Of A Multi-Millionnaire

Laguna Beach: Beach Front CondoCurrently there are several openings available for your very own beach front condo at Camp Runamuck. The cost to you: Nothing. That's right nothing. Why pay millions for beach front property when you can live the life of Riley for nothing. Your very own beach condo. Literally on the beach. Nothing could be better.

Well electricity would be better. OK a private toilet would be better. Running water and a working sewer would be better.

Working sewer? There is no such thing as a WORKING sewer in Laguna Beach.

Oh well, I guess you can't have everything in Paradise.

Celebrated First Thursday With Vincent Van Gogh

Laguna Beach: Sleeping it off.Van Gogh brush with genius was shown last night at the Edwards IMAX theatre at the Spectrum. MacGillivray Freeman Films is the distributor of the film. If you are to spend your first Thursday with great art then this was the place to be. Van Gogh. IMAX. Perfect. You get a chance to view his paintings as if you're standing in front of the real thing. And you do stand in front of several of the artist's paintings. Powerfull stuff.

It is a different kind of IMAX film but it uses the power of IMAX to show off Van Gogh's art and the landscapes that inspired Van Gogh. Great stuff.

Thanks for the invite Greg.

Laguna Beach: Boogie BoardIt sure does.

The Vistas Of Camp Runamuck

Laguna Beach: Homeless VistasThe Inn at Laguna Beach looks down on Camp Runamuck. For years the Inn has been complaining about the ugly buildings below their great hotel. Now the Inn has a new vista for their hotel guests, Camp Runamuck. Whine, whine, whine. It's the song of the Inn. Like a broken record over and over again the Inn whines and whines.

I should, but don't, feel sorry for the hotel. I do feel for Main Beach.
