Is The City In Violation Of State Marine Reserve Regulations?
Could the city be fined for dumping on a state marine reserve? Which brain-dead civil servant at the land-locked Laguna Beach city hall authorized this? Thousands of visitors visit the exact spot where they dumped all this kelp.
The smell is the least of it or ALL of it depending on the wind.
And you concerned grass-root at Save Main Beach doesn't this bother you?

23 MPG Is Progress? Trade In Old Clunker For A New Clunker!
A local couple traded in their 1992 Chevrolet Blazer for a 2009 Honda CR-V. The Honda gets 23 mpg. Sorry folks but you got ripped off. My 1995 Ford Taurus gets 30 mpg. A 14 year-old midsize car gets better milage than a brand new tiny something-or-other compact.
Why is it that we reward stupid behavior? Own a SUV that gets really crappy gas milage and we will reward you no matter it's age or milage. Own an older car that gets good milage and the governments response is: Screw you.
No wonder this country is totally washed up.
Note: Photo has no relation to the story other than the fact the the SUV pictured is a piece of junk and always has been.

Speaking Of Seaweed Or Is It Kelp?
Reported in this weeks City Manager's Report:
Kelp at Main Beach – The high swells deposited maybe 50 to 100 tons of kelp at Main Beach. We have been forced to haul away huge amounts of the kelp and there is quite a bit still piled up. There is still a fair amount of kelp just off shore which may exacerbate the problem.Kelp: Any large, brown, cold-water seaweed of the family Laminariaceae, used as food and in various manufacturing processes.
In the above photo the surf break is full of Laminariaceae.
PS: Exacerbate = Worsen. Just thought you should know.
