Something we all like to see - our work selling. Went over to the Festival this morning and saw many of those little red dots that say SOLD! This is only the third day and already sales look promising. One artist (Actually two that work together.) has sold 8 pieces. Sure hope it continues.
More new rules. No smoking in Heisler Park (Good!) and a curfew at the beaches in North Laguna (No! No! No!) Doesn't the council have better ways to spend their time? Like making sure we have a balanced budget. I guess not.
Late-night carousing in coves near homes is target of Boyd proposal to ban people at sites from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Sounds like a rich people rule. They build giant, ugly buildings on cliffs above the beach then construct terraces and walkways to the beach that destroy the natural appearance of the area. Fight to keep out lifeguard towers. And now they want to limit your time at the beach. I especially dislike the 6 AM limit. Many people, like myself, get up early to walk the beach and to have a bunch of lazy snobs tell me I have to wait until 6 AM because I will disturb them is non-sense. We have more important problems to solve.

You're thinking the 4th has come and gone and now you want some peace and quite. Never happen. It's only Sunday. Rowdy is just begining. The first day of the Art Festival is today. So now all three canyon art festivals are open. And going to the beach is still the cheapest way to entertain the kids. Maybe we need a trip to Vegas. I hear it's really quiet over there.

It's early and the crowds haven't really shown up yet. The photo was taken at 8:30 AM but at 10 AM the crowds still hadn't arrived. They will arrive like the Swallows to Capistrano. I guarantee!
You get here after 1 PM and you will have a hard time getting a parking space. For sure.

High tide warning. High tide will be at 8 PM tomorrow and it will be high -- 5.79 feet. Sunset is also at 8 PM. Last year I almost lost my camera because I wasn't paying attention to the surf which was at high tide.
Fly-over by four Marine AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopters is scheduled for 7:07 PM in Laguna Beach. So be prepared. They will be flying south starting in Huntington Beach. Recommend you check the OC Registor article for possible time changes.
Fireworks will start at 9 PM. Sections of Heisler Park around Rockpile Beach will be closed at 5 PM.
No local bus service Saturday and Sunday. The free trolly service will close at 5 PM on Saturday.

In the summer, like right now, I plan way ahead if I want to make a trip out through the canyon and back. The long line of vehicles trying to get into Laguna can be mean group. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday is stay at home days. Food is stocked up during the week. Ralphs is way to crowded and much to small to even attempt during the weekend and getting to the other stores can be a pain. Me I'm a stay at home kind of guy.
