Just Who Is 'Save Main Beach'?

A new web site just come online. It's called Save Main Beach. It's goal is to prevent any new construction of the Lifeguard Headquarters. Only problem is that they do not identify who is behind this group. Could it be The Inn At Laguna Beach hotel?

Don't trust the photos they have at this site. As a long time photographer (50 years) I know how easy it is to distort reality with pictures. Go down to main beach and inspect the site for yourselves. You do live in Laguna Beach and you do know where main beach is don't you?

The flyer we received states that the city has spent $300,000 already for this building. How come? Because the Inn at Laguna Beach hotel has used undo influence to stop any construction.

The flyer states they support a new headquarters but not on the beach. That IS the stated goal of the Inn at Laguna Beach hotel. No headquarters anywhere near their hotel.

4,500 square feet of space is the TOTAL and that includes the public restrooms which take up about one-third 15% of the space.

Also the 4,500 square feet number is based on the orginial design and not the new design that hasn't been released yet so no one really knows the size of the facility (added 09/01/08.)

Lastly the flyer claims that no one knows about this. It has been in the newspaper (You read the paper right?) It has been discussed at the city council meetings and those are open meetings and the minutes are posted at the city's web site. You know how to use the web don't you?

More information when we get it. They claim to be a California non-profit corporation. We will see who is behind this group.
